January 2nd, 2006. We start work today! Last night Gord spoke eloquently to the crew about being Canadian, about being guests in Italy, representing our country to everyone who comes in contact with us, about what he wants to achieve with this project. He said, “We open this exhibit in a month, but there is no art yet created. We don’t know what’s going to happen. For some reason, that excites me.” Emphasis on teamwork. Everyone is pumped.
Here's the crew just before our fist day of work on the paintings as a group! Plus Edgio, 2nd from left in the front.
Art called FEDEX tonite with the tracking number. Apparently the package is in Liguria now, La Spezia, near Genova, a four hour drive each way. We have to try to find the fittings locally. Sylvia called a friend in Perosa who sells plumbing fittings and so Art, Peter and Egidio are heading out this morning, Egidio leading the way.
11:30 am. The package arrived this morning! After Art had bought the stuff he needs. Gord isn’t surprised. Friday was a holiday weekend. Why should they deliver it the day before a holiday?
